Little James and Susie travel to the continent of Africa to visit the country of Tanzania. The magical globe lands them in the center of a marketplace in Arusha. The people are kind and speak Swahili. James as always learns the basics of the language of the country he intends to visit, and so he orders two chips mayai for him and Susie, which to them resembles a french fry omelet. They love their first taste of this country and move on to a safari through the Serengeti! They see and learn about many types of animals. They also visit Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro crater where they experience even more wildlife. Here they also make a friend named Kileli who is from the Massai tribe. He offers to show them his boma (community) and James and Susie get to meet and mingle with the Massai people. They are friendly and hospitable and make James and Susie a traditional dish called Ugali. James and Susie also visit natural hot springs and the famous Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Janine lived overseas for several years and always appreciated the fun differences between her home country, the U.S., and the rest of the world. She created the Little James' Big Adventures series to encourage a global mindset in young children and cultivate an appreciation for other cultures. As a mother, she believes it is important for our kids to be worldly. These books give your child the experience and knowledge of traveling abroad, all from home with characters they'll grow to love.
